THE CALL FOR INTERGENERATIONAL COLLABORATION TO FOLLOW UP ON THE "PREVENTING WARS FOR HUMANITY. REIMAGINING GLOBAL PEACE" THINK TANK ROUNDTABLE
18 Jan 2024 (during WEF Week in Davos) New European organization (Belgium) held the first table of the PREVENT WARS initiative.
Participators of the "Preventing wars for humanity. Reimagining Global Peace” roundtable at the World Economic Forum 2024 have brought innovative and thought-provoking ideas to redefine our global peace and conflict resolution approach. The diverse perspectives offered by the speakers underscored the importance of intergenerational collaboration, leveraging technology, and engaging with younger generations to foster a more peaceful world.
Andrey Kolodyuk, founder and managing Partner in AVentures Capital, chairman of Ukrainian Venture Capital and Private Equity Association (UVCA), closed the session with a call to action, proposing a global hackathon to find practical solutions for peace and advocating for a multi-stakeholder dialogue platform. He emphasized that preventing war is possible and has historical precedents and encouraged the dissemination of the ideas discussed and the creation of a toolbox for peace initiatives. As a tool for involving young generations, Andrey matched the potential of gamification and technology to create immersive peace simulations and encourage widespread participation in peace-building efforts.
Digital Healthcare Humanist & Futurist Philippe Gerwill highlighted the critical role of younger generations in bringing fresh solutions to the table, advocating for their active involvement in the dialogue.
With her diverse background as a transformational leader, journalist, author, barrister, and strategist, Jennifer Nadel advocates for cultural initiatives to bring people together in support of the cause of peace. These initiatives foster unity and understanding through shared cultural experiences, creating a common background that transcends differences and promotes a sense of shared humanity.
At the same time, a U.S. national security and international human rights lawyer Combiz Abdolrahimi suggested parallel approaches to problem-solving, drawing parallels with innovations in clinical trials.
Luca Bertoletti, a European governance and policymaking expert and a registered lobbyist at the European Parliament, stressed the importance of AI in defense and policy-making, advocating for regulation that harnesses AI's potential responsibly.
Daniel Diemers, co-founder at SNGLR Group and investor, introduced the concept of AI leadership with built-in ethical constraints to prevent warfare, emphasizing the need to engage with the youth in their digital spaces.
David Doss, the founder of the CKC Fund, pointed to the decentralized technologies – as seen in blockchain and crypto initiatives like the $6.75 million Ukrainian flag NFT – to underscore the transformative potential of digital economies in supporting global peace and recovery efforts. Such successes prompt reevaluating centralized versus decentralized roles in our ever-evolving geopolitical landscape.
Curator and organiser of Digital Davos, CEO & founder ChainBLX, Karl Seelig, warned against disenfranchising individuals from their political power, suggesting ongoing dialogues in forums for sustained engagement.
Nina Kulchevich (Lakhno), the co-founder of the PR Army of Ukraine, has emphasized the significance of critical thinking in examining public information, including its content and sources. Given Russia’s burgeoning spread of disinformation through various media channels in Europe, Asia, and Africa, the proposed tools and Ukrainian experience are aimed at addressing the technical issues. Developing a habit and skill set known as "informational hygiene" is crucial to ensure the personal security of Generation Z and Alpha, which entails checking the context and the profiles of speakers/journalists.
Karl Lillrud, Keynote Speaker & Business Coach, One of the Globe's Top Experts on AI and Digital Commerce, called for a reimagined approach to leadership and conflict resolution inspired by the global and digital native perspectives of younger generations. He proposed a "homework" for attendees to engage with Gen Z and Alpha to understand their views on preventing wars.
The roundtable's collective message is a powerful reminder of the potential for innovative, collaborative approaches to build a more peaceful future. The speakers' proposals, from engaging younger generations and leveraging technology to ethical AI leadership and cultural initiatives, offer a roadmap for action. As participants and the wider community reflect on these insights, a clear call to action is to share these ideas widely, engage in meaningful discussions, and contribute to the global effort to prevent wars.
We invite everyone interested to join the PREVENT WARS initiative, which continues its work. We are planning to hold round tables, summits and, importantly
